Let’s just say that a spark was lit up in me during the past week in the office. This spark involves me realizing that not only is it fun to play drums, it is also fun to learn to play it.
So I got myself the full Guitar Hero Band Pack, which includes the guitar, the mic, the drumset, and the game. And for 139 Euro. That is really fair… I set it all up – and let me tell you – it DOES look good on high def, and for me it’s really good fun. I enjoy playing it so much… As of the moment I do about 80-90% notes on Medium. Let’s see if I can go further.
Now the thing is that maybe you already own a drumset. Preferably an electronic drumset. What if you wanna play Guitar Hero with your equipment instead of the game’s? Well… on the back of the drumset there is a MIDI-in port. That means you can now go and get a MIDI cable, and connect those two. The only thing you have to do is map the right MIDI codes on your e-drumset, and you’re good to go. It is that easy in fact! Smart move by RedOctane.

After a little training, I managed to get my first 5 Stars ever in Guitar Hero… Billy Idol would be proud. I think. Even if this is achieved on Medium difficulty.
