Rap Chop remix now real commercial

A while back, I posted an infomercial inside which a man named Vince is trying to demo and consequently sell a kitchen helper named Slap Chop. The device supposedly cuts practically any sort of vegetable into handy pieces with just one or two slaps.

Steve Porter, a known DJ and audio hacker, took the entire infomercial and added some magic to it – by creating a remix with electronic, fast-paced music. It eventually was nicknamed the “Rap Chop”.

Now, in a move that can only be described as sheer brilliance, the company who sells the Slap Chop adopted Steve Porter’s remix – and actually used the entire clip, almost unedited (that means that the original movie clips from “Breakin’”, that were in Steve’s remix, have been removed and replaced with non-copyright-material), as their current infomercial for the Slap Chop. People on YouTube report to have seen it on TV.

I like this company… they seem to be smart. People like the Rap Chop, and the company recognizes that. Awesome!

Click the image to see the actual infomercial, over at TMZ =)
