Sometimes when we are kids, we promise something to the other kid, just because it’s a good idea at the time. However we seem to forget promises we made over the course of time, as adult life is increasing the pressure on us. But not in the case of Keitaro and a girl, that he promised to go to the Tokyo U(niversity), once he is old enough to do so – with that girl. Years later, when he has a chance to get in, things are set in motion that would change his life forever.
Keeping that promise would not be so difficult, if Keitaro didn’t have the problem of forgetting the name of the girl he made that promise to. So you see for Keitaro, being determined as he is, that really is an issue. Despite having failed the entrance exam of Tokyo U twice, he becomes the manager of the Hinata Apartments. With that responsibility he is forced to find a balance between his work and trying to manage to pass the entrance exams.
In the apartments, Keitaro has a tough life – being the only guy amongst girls. Naturally almost anything he does is perceived as hitting on girls, spying on other girls, being a pervert, and generally only being interested in the one thing. When Naru is around, and she sees it, well, Keitaro has to put up with her rather impulsive behaviour
The whole show is basically a comedy, but has its serious moments too. Obviously sometimes it’s pure overkill, but that doesn’t take away any of the humor and hilarity. It centers around Keitaro trying to keep his promise, but continuously runs into issues.
Overall I have to say the show is incredibly hilarious and the way a good comedy should be. Keitaro’s girl problems are fun to see, we all were at that age at some time. If you want to laugh out loud and hysterically, this is the show for you. If you love serious moments in an otherwise laugh out loud streak, this show is for you. The score is amazing and mesmerizing at stages, so it’s also a feast for your ears. The voice-acting is pretty good too, so all in all, a pretty awesome anime you should not miss out on.
