Spiral

- UPDATE JAN 11, 2008: PROJECT DEPRECATED. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT MY PLANS ON MY HOMEPAGE AND BLOG WHEN I HAVE FINISHED THE REDESIGN OF MY SITE -

This now is the official name of the successor of OS X Mercury, on which I am currently working on. I think it’s gonna be cool, and I have thrown in a lot of my own things, which is why I am moving away from an “OS X” name. As the promo image above says, I plan to release it in November next year. I have chosen this name because I have always been fascinated with space and our galaxy, so this is the origin of this name. However, it will keep its Code Name, which is “Sirius”.

As of writing this article, I am standing at Build 2M125. The Build number is constructed like this: 2M - Version 2 of Mercury, and an incremental number of implemented improvements, which started at 100.

I do not want to talk about any of the features in public right now, or what you can expect, I leave you guessing as to what that might be. Therefore, I don’t wanna spoil the fun with current screenshots… It’s not ready anyways yet and a lot more work needs to be done before I can tell you a bit more.

Anyways - OS X Quicksilver is no more! Sprial is what’s coming. If everything goes well, it arrives in November ‘08.
